PS - Have you heard? This blog is getting PERSONAL!
|

Today's post is dedicated to one Ms.Kara W. It's been a long time coming, friend, but we are *finally* here. I don't know who is more excited about this - me or you - but suffice it to say that we've BOTH been anxiously awaiting this moment.
This post has been (almost) four years in the making. I knew that I would be writing these words back in September 2007 when I received the sweetest email from a bubbly college girl named Kara...

Hi Meg,
I know you have probably gotten these emails a million times, but I have had two sorority sisters use you in their wedding and I am OBSESSED. I am an avid blog reader and have never gotten the guts to email you and tell you how unbelieveably amazing you are! I am a senior graduating in April and very excited to have a wedding so I can have you photograph it!! haha! I am an ADPi at FSU. We have nights where we sit and just read your blog! We are a bit obsessed and girls are already saying that they can't wait to have you guys photograph our weddings! You guys are going to be busy bees in the next few years! We just think you two have a great team and amazing pictures! WE PROMOTE YOU TWO VERY BIG HERE!!! You WILL be hearing from me when I get engaged, have kids, etc! Haha!!Just wanted to let you know that I am very in love with your work! Have a great week! Kara W
Of course, I kept that first email (Kara don't kill me for sharing that - it's just too precious and special to me) KNOWING that I would be able to share this story with all of you someday...
Meet *my* Kara and her equally wonderful fiance Tyler... |

I doubt it's possible to eagerly await the announcement of an engagement more than I have with these two... years of emails and eventually meeting & photographing Kara at her sister's weddings (both sorority and real-life sisters!) and now the date has been set! December 2011 will be here before we know it and then what'll I have to occupy my mind?!
One last shot before I go... Kara as I always envisioned her... laughing & so in love. |

| Thank you to *all* of the Kara's out there... you inspire us and make this job incredibly rewarding. LOVE! |

Well hello again, friends. Long time - no blog, I know! It's a new year now (happy happy, joy joy) - so let's just leave the long streak of blogging absence behind us and look forward to more frequent visits in 2011, shall we?
First up, pulling us right out from hibernation, is the mega-wedding-weekend of Jessica + Jonathan in Seaside, Florida this past July. What qualifies as a MEGA wedding weekend? Well, I suppose one where you photograph FOUR back-to-back(-to-back-to-back) separate wedding celebrations for one awesome couple! In just 3 days with these wonderful new friends we photographed a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ladies luncheon (which dripped in Vera Bradley goodness!), and of course a fantastic wedding to top it all off! Add to the three day whirlwind a bridal session and engagement session earlier in the year, and Jessica + Jonathan win the award for most camera-time EVER! Gotta love that.
So without further adieu, I give you mega-wedding-weekend...

Seaside, Florida

| The intimate rehearsal dinner was held at Bistro Bijoux in Baytowne Wharf in the Sandestin Resort. |

| The too-cute-for-words ladies luncheon was held at the Vera Bradley Inn by the Sea in Seaside, Florida. Jessica is an avid collector of all things Vera Bradley, so a girlie get-together here was her idea of wedding bliss! |

| I'm adoring the vintage 'head vases' here.... they remind me of the original Barbie dolls. |

| Getting all of the girlfriends together mere hours before the wedding day in such a sweet way gets my Smarty Pants Award. Love it! |

| The welcome party was up next... with everyone flying in for this destination wedding, hosting a casual dinner the night before the wedding for all guests was a thoughtful way to say thank you to family and friends for making the trip and gave the couple a little more face-time with their loved ones. The Love Shack in Santa Rosa Beach hosted the indoor-outdoor shindig. |

| Some guests (mostly kiddos) even enjoyed a dip in the pool - but I promised I wouldn't post any of that here ;) |

| Most of the world knows what a sucker I am for out of towner baskets - and this bucket version was one of my favorites. Filled with maps, brochures, and other goodies - the couple also included some Seaside swag for their guests, so they could return home with a souvenir (or four)! |

| And now we've come to the Big Day...(cue the choir of angels) |

| How fantastic is this family Bible, dating back to 1899?! Talk about Something OLD! |

| Jessica is an only child (like yours truly) and her close relationship with her Mom is something I could really relate to... there's nothing quite like that bond. |

| HOW COOL IS THIS?! As part of their outdoor reception display, J + J had these awesome collages printed on vinyl banners to hang around the tent. They included photos from their early years all the way up to present day - and even managed to sneak in a few engagement images throughout. SOOOOO snagging another Smarty Pants Award for that. (What? I'm feeling generous!) |

| How yumm-o is that golden light? Oh, and while I'm looking at it ... I'd like to praise the whole movement we've seen in the industry for quite some time now to incorporate actual furniture pieces into the wedding design. There's something about a sofa on the grass that feels incredibly special to me - not to mention cozy and inviting! Ah, what the hey, "another SMARTY PANTS AWAAAAAARD" (to be shouted, a la Oprah)! |

| Loving the rocking sunsets and the subsequent vivid blue skies we've been getting at all of our Bentley's on the Bay weddings (Hello to the always lovely Laura & Alexa!) |

A quick shout out of thanks to Jessica + Jonathan - AND Jan (how could I leave you out?!) - for having us with you for so many wonderful celebrations. It was a complete joy to get to know you and document the festivities... we do you hope you'll keep in touch. After all, I think we've likely become unofficial members of the extended family. Much love.
|

| And before I forget, a quick note of thanks to Heather with Seaside Cottage Rental Agency for always making our job so E-A-S-Y. |
