TGIF, everyone :)
To kick off your weekend in STYLE, we are sharing the *gorgeous* New Orleans wedding of Valerie + Davey! I'm loving this nighttime soiree so much that I figured we'd just share their entire client website/slideshow with you as an added bonus. MRS.Valerie has a real thing for fashion (I've never seen her without a pair of fantastic pumps) and is all about the drama of a New Orleans wedding - even the POURING rain and FLOODED streets couldn't put a damper on her plans.
You can scroll down the page to vote for some favorites - but the real magic is in the photo below. Click on the image to launch their custom client slideshow/website. This is a feature we've been building since 2008 (hey, we don't get a ton of free time around here!) - and are finally ready to announce will be included in all 2010 wedding packages, effective immediately ;) Inside, you can click on the 'highlights' link to launch their full wedding highlights slideshow - and enjoy all 180-something images! So, I guess this would also qualify as another 100:1 post, as well. See there - TGIF, indeed! |

The view from Valerie's hotel room. That church to the right is the Immaculate Conception where the ceremony was held.
|

That's a peacock-feather encased bridal bouquet - *swoon* - next to some foot jewelry.

Valerie looks great posing for the camera, which you've already seen in her bridal session, but this low-light candid is perhaps my favorite...

The bustling hotel lobby was too pretty with all of the twinkle lights to ignore. We stopped for just a moment to snag a few...

With the rain hammering everything it touched outside, we found a vacant ballroom to use for pre-ceremony formals.

I like the mirrored image here...

Isn't the church just STUNNING?!

One of my favorites! Now, in Davey's defense - Catholic masses can be very L_O_N_G.

A second line led by a New Orleans brass band was scheduled to parade the guests from the church to the streetcars and transport everyone to the reception - but with the weather and the flooding grounding the streetcars, a bus was brought in at the last minute to transport the (only slightly damp) guests and bridal party over to the Elms Mansion for dinner & dancing.

First dance as husband & wife...

An emotional dance with Dad.

Another personal favorite.

Charm pulls are also very New Orleans.

Gotta share this image so you can see the wardrobe change - looking good, Valerie.

This was such a fun way to send the newlyweds off - smarty pants award for originality!

Many thanks to Emily Sullivan of Get Polished Events - their fantastic wedding planner - who kept the day running smoothly and the vendors happy and fed! :)
Last but never least, I need to say a HUGE thank you as well to our good friends and talented photographers (not to mention past clients!) Michael Johnston from Tallahassee, FL and John Flatt from Lafayette, LA - who accompanied us on this very wet day and both contributed beautifully to the coverage of the day. You'll see some real gems from both guys in the 'highlights slideshow' up top. Thanks guys!
(And a sidenote to our longtime readers - thought you'd appreciate the updates on both families - April & Michael are very pregnant with baby #2, and Sheri & John recently welcomed their first - a beautiful baby girl (I held her!!) Morgan into their happy home!) |
